We’re thrilled to announce that JTC received two commendations—in the Export and Industrial categories—for the Bayer Zambia project at the prestigious SAISC Steel Awards 2025.
This achievement continues a successful trend. Over several years, our Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) solutions, built in remote African locations from the DRC to Zambia, have consistently won industry praise from panels that judge every possible aspect of a project. The commended Bayer Blue Castle Maize Seed Production Facility is a high-scale industrial project. We were responsible for the crucial supply and installation of structural steel, sheeting, and cold room panels. This facility utilized over 500 tonnes of structural steel and 22,000 square meters of sheeting. This isn’t our first award-winning PEB solution. The ENK Hydro Plant project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which features a 14-meter eaves height and was designed to support a 30-tonne overhead gantry, also won an award at the 2023 Steel Awards. Both projects highlight the compelling advantages of our PEB solutions, which are 17%-33% less expensive and take 10-12 months less time to erect compared to conventional construction.
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including building design, steel fabrication, on-site profiling, roofing and cladding, rainwater goods, insulation, and installation. Our expertise were demonstrated on the SAB Lusaka project, where we were responsible for the design, supply, and installation of a 700-tonne PEB structure as well as 20,000 sqm of Saflok 700® for the roof and side cladding. We were awarded this project because AbInBev, the largest beer manufacturer in the world, trusts us as a global construction partner.
Our commitment to excellence has also forged strong partnerships with other key role players. We are currently working with Suscon Construction to oversee the engineering, procurement, and construction of the Zambian Twazabuka Sugar Mill.
